Villa XRWA was founded in April 2018 by Chinese fashion designer Xinru Du and Canadian designer Melanie Weiai Mao. Both of them Graduated form Fashion design technology: Womenswear, London College of Fashion, University of arts London. Until now on, their works have been published and reported by mainstream media such as Chinese I-D, British Dazed, Hunger and Evening Standard. Du Xinru used her graduation work "No Sense" to launch a self examination and exploration of herself. Also, she worked in Simone Rocha studio during graduation time. Melanie Weiai Mao's graduation work “ Virgin Brides for Sale” reflects the social reality of women's materialization. This collection also been nominated as Vogue talents by Vogue Italy in 2017. By the thinking or diversified, art, fashion design and beauty, they commenced the fashion brand Villa XRWA.
